The marker lights on Peak 45059 (D98) Royal Engineer, heading the 10:12 Newcastle to Cardiff, glow brightly despite it being around noon, so Saturday 12th February 1977 was obviously a typical gloomy West Riding winter's day! The train has just negotiated the reverse curves around the wide island platform at Normanton.
