Oldham Mumps

North of the former Oldham Mumps station the railway ran on an embankment and crossed the road on a series of bridges. The building on the left featured in a former mystery image taken in 1968 see image 37965. By July 2013 the embankment and bridges have been removed during conversion to Metrolink. This busy road crossing will go when trams start running through Oldham town centre and the original alignment between Mumps and Werneth is abandoned. The new tram line towards the town centre can be seen in front of the red brick building.
