Melrose

Rugby 'sevens day' at Melrose was always a busy occasion for the railway - but the field of parked cars on the left betrays the extent to which Borderers were forsaking the railway in favour of private transport. Here, on 9th April 1965, a DMU forms an afternoon service - possibly an additional working to cope with the extra demand - heading towards Edinburgh.
