Dilston Crossing

Running eastwards through the Tyne Valley a train of coal from Scotland approaches Corbridge station hauled by a DBS Class 66. This view was taken from Corbridge Old Roman Town, an English Heritage site to the west of the present day town. The River Tyne, although quite wide at this point, is hidden in the dip between the fields.
