Allendale

Originally planned to run to the top of the valley at Allenheads the Allendale Railway didn't even reach the small town of that name but petered out around a mile short. What should have become Catton Road station when the line was completed remained as Allendale with a sparse passenger service that finished in 1930. After goods traffic finished (in 1950) the building became part of a caravan park. View from alongside the buffer stops in June 2013.
