Headfield Junction
This location in Savile Town, Dewsbury, once rejoiced in the title of Headfield Junction but these days were long gone by 1982. However the former GNR Railway Street yard was still in operation, hence retention of the one-time link between the L&YR at Headfield Jn and Dewsbury Jn on the GNR's Dewsbury loop. The L&YR line had run through the masonry arch bridge on the left to terminate at Market Place station which was closed by the LMS in 1930. See image 41342
