Betzdorf

053 009 was one of the last built examples of class 50 and emerged during WW2 incorporating many simplifications to the design as a transition towards the class 52 Kriegslok. It was photographed in the marshalling yard at Betzdorf on 5th September 1974. The bogie wagons carrying steel coils will have originated from the rolling mill at Kreuztal to the north of Siegen.
