Frodingham

Robinson J11 0-6-0 (GCR class 9J) no 64308 on Frodingham shed, Scunthorpe, around 1960. Built in 1901/1902, the 174 locomotives of class J11 were given the nickname 'pom-poms' due to the similarity of their exhaust beat to the sound of the rapid-fire gun used by the British Army at that time. 64308 was eventually withdrawn from Frodingham in October 1961, having spent the whole of the BR period at the shed.
