Eccles
With electrification from Manchester to Newton-le-Willows scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013, masts are starting to appear all along the eastern half of the L&MR. On a gloomy afternoon in December 2012, Arriva Trains Wales 158835 passes a new mast at Eccles station as it hurries through on a train from North Wales to Manchester. Over on the Liverpool platform holes are being excavated for further installations.
