Bury Castlecroft Goods

When the East Lancashire Railway was first established in Bury operations were confined to a short demonstration line from the Transport Museum in the old Castlecroft Goods shed yard. This was later realigned and extended alongside the Rawtenstall freight line just to the north of Bolton St tunnel. Former Manchester Ship Canal Hunslet 0-6-0T No. 32 Gothenburg is seen around 1979 in steam at the temporary platform used for brakevan trips at that time.
