Ness Viaduct

One of the few occasions on which coal moved south on the Far North Line. Some of the 13 HEA hopper wagons of imported coal - a contract secured to rail by the photographer's son as BR Speedlink Coal manager for Scotland - conveyed on a southbound freight from Invergordon on 12th February 1986 are seen here on the original Ness Bridge in Inverness.
