Preston

Brush Type 4 no 1943 taken from south end of Preston station around 1970, prior to resignalling and electrification. See image 35797 [With thanks to Messrs Todd, Petrie and Rafferty] The rather anonymous D1943 later became better known as 47500 Great Western. It was a regular visitor to Preston with West Coast Railways until January 2013 when it was damaged in the Salford train fire and it is now stored at Carnforth
