Barnsley Junction

45 001 deposits another half load of power station coal in the sidings at Barnsley Junction, Penistone, in July 1981. There was one more train from here to Fiddler's Ferry after the 16.30 departure, so the Peak will make another trip to Dodworth Colliery in order to make up a full train. A week later the traffic would be routed via Healey Mills, which at least created some additional interest for the photographer, who then lived adjacent to the Calder Valley main line at Mirfield.
