Kingshill Colliery No 3
A cable railway operated between Kingshill Collieries No 3 and No 1. Coal was taken downhill to No 1 which had the washery and the mainline railway connection at Daviesdykes near Allanton. This view looks towards No 1 at the road overbridge over Daviesdyke Road. This bridge has been removed but a similar one remains over the former Wilsontown, Morningside and Coltness Railway with a portion of the cable. Kingshill No 2 was further east near Wilsontown.
