Ely Dock Junction
Withdrawn class 126 stock, with SC79164 nearest the camera, languishing in the sidings at Ely Dock Junction in February 1983. The units are awaiting removal for scrapping at the nearby plant of European Metal Recycling, Snailwell, Cambridgeshire. Note the 'danger' stickers attached to the sides of the stock, warning of the asbestos contained within these units. Snailwell was one of a small number of specialist sites equipped to deal safely with such material. See image 31786
