The train guard, PW Inspector Jockie Ross and the Lairg signalman walk the track - as seen from the rear cab of a PW train in summer 1974. The photographer was supplementing his duties as Senior Railman at Invergordon to earn Sunday overtime with the engineers - the only BR job which paid double-time in those days!
