Strageath Halt

A summer's day in 1961 with locals awaiting the 11 a.m. Gleneagles-Crieff railbus at Strageath Halt. This was one of two basic wooden platforms opened by BR to coincide with the introduction of the new trains. See image 28895 [With thanks to John Robin and David Stewart]. Additional: David Moultrie (via David Spaven) has advised that those on the platform are (in front) his father John Moultrie (who was a platelayer on the line), then Mrs Newman, then Joe Lawrence.
