Portobello
Still firing after all these years. Captured in the cab of Oliver Cromwell at Portobello on 24th March 2012, Danny Forbes' railway career has taken him from Keith in 1958 via Kyle, Hawick (1962-64), Cambridge, and Stratford (East London) to Aberdeen. He is now part of West Coast Railways' footplate team. The photographer discovered that their paths had almost certainly crossed in 1978-79 when Danny was driving Class 47-hauled Freightliner trains from Stratford and the photographer was a terminal supervisor at Stratford FLT.
