Normanton

A northbound express, possibly the 08.00 St Pancras - Glasgow, approaching Normanton from the Cudworth direction in April 1976 with 45 057 in charge, still sporting the split headcode panels fitted to earlier members of the class. The chimney and cooling towers visible above the loco belonged to Wakefield power station in whose shadow stood Wakefield shed see image 21784, still in use at the time as a wagon repair shop.
