Newcastle Central
A4 no 60001 Sir Ronald Matthews spent most of its years at 52A Gateshead and was withdrawn from that establishment in October of 1964. The local theme was retained even after withdrawal with No 1 being broken up at Hughes Bolckows, North Blyth, just before the end of the year. The Pacific is seen here at Newcastle Central during the twilight of its operational life.
