Shipley
The pairing of LNWR Precedent class 2-4-0 No. 790 'Hardwicke' and the Midland Compound No. 1000 might not have been historically authentic but the two locos still made a pleasing sight as they passed Shipley Bingley Junction box in April 1976 while working the Gainsborough Model Railway Society's London & North Western & Midland Railways Joint Tour between York and Carnforth. The only jarring note is the BR corporate blue and grey livery adorning the Mk1 coaches which formed the train.
