Having turned on the triangle of lines to the south of Carlisle station on 3 July 2010, No. 71000 Duke of Gloucester stands ready to return 'The Cumbrian Coast Explorer' to Crewe. The Cumbrian Coast line was only traversed on the outward journey - the return was via the Settle and Carlisle.
