Rottweil

The 07.03 Rottweil - Villingen and 08.40 return was still a regular steam duty in the summer of 1974. In earlier years a class 078 4-6-4T would probably have been the regular power but, with steam at its last gasp in the Black Forest, a class 50 2-10-0 was by then the best that could be expected. On 4 September 1974 the return train from Villingen was provided with such a locomotive operating tender first with B-B diesel No. 211 215 as pilot. The train was photographed between Deisslingen and Rottweil.
