Glen Ogle Rockfall

This is the rockfall which closed the Callander and Oban as it was in 1993. What? You can't see it? That's it, that small pile in the distant right. Actually it is not that small see image 28647. At the time a report predicted that 'hundreds of tons of rock were likely at any time to roll down on to the railway' (John Thomas's words). In the intervening years since closure, currently 46, this has not happened. This was a blackspot for many years, the retaining wall to the right is testimony to this, last re-built in 1963.
