Kirkby Lonsdale

Kirkby Lonsdale station closed to passengers in 1954, although the Low Gill to Clapham line continued to see freight, diversions and specials into the 1960s. The town is the second largest on the line, after Sedbergh, but the station is 1.5 miles away just off the A65, which wouldn't have helped patronage. In 2010 it was converted into a tea room and pottery but has since reverted to purely residential use See image 36246. Map reference SD629774.
