Evesham

Hymek D7097 leaves Evesham on a Hereford to Paddington working on a summer evening in 1972. I had just travelled from Worcester behind the locomotive to the limit of the West Midlands Ranger ticket area. At the time I rightly surmised that it would be my last run behind a Hymek on the main line, and had no idea that I would later be able to ride behind sister loco D7076 on the East Lancashire Railway. D7097 was withdrawn from Bath Road in December 1972 but lingered at Swindon Works until cutting in March 1975.
