Victoria Viaduct

This view looks north from what was the trackbed of the Duke of Buccleuch's Tramway and later the Dalkeith Branch of the North British. Ahead was the Victoria Viaduct which has been demolished with very little, except the base of a pier, remaining to show where it was. The nearby New Cow road bridge is a clue to the location of the former viaduct. Behind the camera was Cowden Colliery served by the tramway and Cowdenfoot Colliery served by NB. December 2004.
