Maud

The NBL Type 2s were, for a few years following dieselisation, the staple locomotive on Buchan line trains. In this photograph, having attached a portion off the 3.20pm ex-Peterhead see image 37410, the 3.15pm train from Fraserburgh (from which the photograph is taken) is pulling away from Maud Junction to continue its journey south to Aberdeen. Meantime, the driver of the Peterhead train is about to rejoin his locomotive in order to carry out some shunting operations.
