Musselburgh

A3 Pacific no 60091 Captain Cuttle has just passed Monktonhall Junction in the summer of 1955 and is approaching the site of the 1988 Musselburgh station with an ECML service bound for Waverley. [Editors note: Michael Laing tells me that the second and probably third vehicles in this train are ex-GCR 'Barnum' open thirds, built in 1910 and seating 64 in two 4-bay open saloons. According to the GCR rolling stock trust website the last examples of these coaches were withdrawn in 1958.]
