Wakefield Westgate

Double Deck MAT car transporters stand in the background after offloading cars for the (soon to close) Tolman distribution depot at Wakefield Westgate on 22 April 1989. The main line end of the siding was fitted with overhead catenary during the ECML electrification, but it was never used. A support mast can just be seen to the right of the orange building framework to left of view. The siding for off-loading vans from flatbed wagons can be seen at bottom left corner of view. See image 72869. Also see image 33655 for a 2010 view over the area.
