Avalanche Shelter

A class 26 hauled train heading west towards Kyle of Lochalsh in the early 1970s about to enter the Loch Carron avalanche shelter. Located to the south west of Attadale station, the shelter was constructed following a particularly bad rock fall in November 1969. The structure protects both the road and the railway at this point.
