Meadowbank Stadium

Meadowbank Stadium station had a mayfly existence, being built for the 1986 Commonwealth Games and being served only by specials from Waverley for the Games and for a couple of other events before and after. I remember it appeared on the Abbeyhill loop on the 'ScotRail East Network Map' posted in Haymarket's allocation of Class 101 DMUs, so perhaps it was once the intention to make this a regular stop on North Berwick services. As it was, the line was singled, leaving the only platform high and dry and the connection with Waverley at Abbeyhill Junction was also cut. The existing line though is in regular use by the Powderhall 'Binliners'. Looking towards the junction at Piershill on 12 February.
