The Melton Mowbray Pieman runs north ecs into Barnsley station behind 56008 on the morning of Sunday 24 July 1977. The special, organised by BR Eastern Region, departed for Melton Mowbray at 09.00, arriving there just before lunchtime. Lunch on this occasion was provided at no extra cost by BR, who supplied each participant on arrival with... you've guessed it... a Melton Mowbray pork pie.
