Smithy Lye
The now disused Smithy Lye acted as carriage sidings for Glasgow
Central. This view of 5 February is from Shields Road and looks east with the Paisley Line (left) heading for Bridge Street Junction and Glasgow Central. It is an easier location to photograph than when Brian Forbes stood here see image 12171 although now there is less to see. For once the trackside detritus cannot be blamed on the public; perhaps the thinking is that around here there's no amenity to spoil...
