Humber Estuary

PS Lincoln Castle on the north bank of the Humber near Hessle in July 1986. The vessel was built by A & J Inglis Ltd at Pointhouse, Glasgow in 1940 for the London & North Eastern Railway. In spite of efforts to preserve her (her fleetmates Wingfield Castle and Tattershall Castle survive) she was broken up at Grimsby in October 2010. See image 31941
