Inverkeithing

Extract from an OS one inch map published in 1957.  It contains a rare representation of the elusive line connecting RNAS Donibristle with the East Ness jetty at Inverkeithing, used to transport seaplanes.  The start of the branch and level crossing can be made out, but the next stretch is missing, as are all details of the airbase (and Rosyth Naval Dockyard) for national security reasons.  Note that Dalgety Bay was then just that: a bay. [Crown Copyright 1957.]
