Trafford Park

General view over the yard of the large Trafford Park shed, Manchester, in the sixties. Originally built as a 20-road straight dead-end shed it was used by locomotives of the MR, GNR and GCR and contained multiple coal stages, water tanks and turntables. The decaying shed, latterly coded 9E, was eventually closed in 1968 and demolished by 1975. A Freightliner container depot was later built on the site.
