Norwich City

After final closure on 3rd February 1969, the ruins of Norwich City station disappeared in stages. First to go were the street facing structures, removed in the early 1970s when a new roundabout for the Norwich inner ring road encroached on the site. This view, taken in October 1976, is of the four truncated and excavated platforms looking towards the roundabout. It seems probable that the platform infill was used to shape the roundabout dome.
