Wittersham Road
Wittersham Road station on the Kent and East Sussex Railway as seen from the level crossing on the minor road between Wittersham and Rolvenden Layne on 29 October 2010. This country station, like many others along the line, was quite a way from the village it claimed to serve. In this respect it reminded me of the Forth and Clyde Junction Railway, where many stations were a considerable distance from the communities from which they took their names ... and then there's Gatehouse of Fleet of course ...
