Glasgow

Extract from the BR Passenger Network Map for 1978 showing the
Glasgow area.  The Argyle Line wasn't to open until the following year and it's odd to think of a time when the North Clyde lines had no connection with the south.  Note the Bridgeton branch:  Bridgeton then meant the old Bridgeton Central whereas the 1979 Bridgeton was formerly Bridgeton Cross.  Springburn is portrayed as a terminus, which in terms of passenger services it was.  Odd that the line from there to Cumbernauld is shown with some geographic fidelity for a diagram, whereas Wishaw's position has been misleadingly simplified.
