Leith South Goods

A merged image showing the main entrance to Leith South goods depot looking north east on Bath Road in the 1980s. The building on the far left was unoccupied at the time, with the depot's two permanent staff accommodated in the buiding alongside the entrance. A siding from South Leith yard can be seen terminating at buffer stops in front of a small wooden hut in the centre background. The crane on the horizon is standing on the south side of Edinburgh Dock. The old main goods shed to the right of the picture was later demolished and replaced by a modern structure see image 11661. Leith South goods depot was subsequently closed and the site, including the replacement goods shed, sold on. Last heard of in use by a recycling company.
