Berney Arms

Approaching Berney Arms in the Norfolk Broads in September 2009 by one of the 4 methods available, the other 3 being by foot, by boat (on the River Yare) and by parachute. The single short-platform halt was named after the landowner who originally sold the land to the Norwich & Yarmouth Railway on condition they built a station there. Trains stop on request and only during daylight hours as there is no lighting at the station - or anywhere near it. Berney Arms remains one of the remotest stations in England.
