Wigan [L&Y] Shed
Stanier 2-6-2T no 40198 stands on the former no 9 road at Wigan shed (ex-L&YR) in April 1962. Roads 9-14 of the shed were roofless by this time. The shed, coded 27D, finally closed in April 1964 and was demolished in 1966. 40198 was withdrawn from Southport shed in the summer of 1962 and cut up at Campbells of Airdrie the following year.
