King's Gate Junction

A section of the former Waverley Route built when the Edinburgh and Hawick Railway was constructed in 1847, easing a tight corner on the original Edinburgh and Dalkeith Railway (which was off to the left). The view looks north to Millerhill Yard. This is now the site of King's Gate Junction and is the location where the new Borders Railway's deviation through Shawfair (to the left) reaches the Waverley Route's course.
