Warton

A tramroad was built to carry limestone from the quarry at Warton to the Ironworks at Carnforth and a spur was used for tipping slag alongside the River Keer estuary. A long section of the old formation is now used as a farm road and is seen here in July 2010 crossing the Cumbrian Coast railway and then curving round with Warton Crag Quarry visible behind See image 30144 for the view in the opposite direction.
