Bearsden

As at quite a few other places it was the name chosen for the station that gave the name to the community which built up around it. Nobody seems sure where the railway got 'Bearsden' from. If it was a jocular reference to a bear's den then it didn't stop the area becoming one of Glasgow's smarter 'pan loaf' suburbs. A 6-car Juniper pulls in for Milngavie on 14 July.
