Dalry Junction [Edinburgh]

Photograph taken on June 2010 looking south west along the trackbed of the Caledonian a mile out of Princes Street, shortly after passing the site of Dalry Junction. The footbridge that spanned the tracks here still survives although nowadays it carries pedestrians between Dundee Terrace (left) and Dundee Street over what is now an exit from Edinburgh's West Approach Road. Merchiston station lay straight ahead just beyond and to the left of St Michael's Parish Church on Slateford Road, the tower of which stands in the background.
