Denver

Headed by a recently-built GE Genesis locomotive, the westbound California Zephyr from Chicago waits at Denver's Union station in the summer of 1994. The train is preparing for the long slog through the Rockies. At that time, the Genesis - 14” lower than its predecessor F40 - was the only locomotive type which could operate over every Amtrak route.
