Ben Alder Level Crossing
Guests of BR viewing the reinstatement of double track just south of Dalwhinnie in 1976. At the time, following a major surge of heavy commodity rail freight to and from the Invergordon aluminium smelter, coupled with North Sea oil-related pipe traffic, rail held a market share of around a half of all road and rail tonnage over Druimuachdar.
