Port Glasgow

Pre-electronic departure information at Port Glasgow in July 1997.
These were operated by station staff simply flicking an on-off switch on a panel, one for each station.  As this was an all stations service Woodhall and Hillington East should also have been lit up, as well as of course the Paisley above '(St James)'.  The remaining gap, after Cardonald, can surely only have been occupied by Ibrox, being the last intermediate station before Glasgow Central to close, 30 years before this photograph and a year after the closure of Shields Road in 1966. Thus we can date this specimen pretty accurately.
